Oil on Canvas - 60x72

This painting is not up for auction because it's part of a series that is unfinished. I wanted to share it because it's one of my favorites and probably captures my style the best. It was painted after my first daughter was born and I wasn't sleeping very much. I didn't paint at all while I was pregnant, mainly because I was shooting the show for the second season. So I was very restless.

This painting came from a very deep desire to have a window back to myself. I wanted to finish it so badly that I painted it outside in the rain on my deck for hours, and in-between feeding breaks, which influenced how watery the painting became. The series will explore the cyclical nature
of birth to death and the recycling of the human body.
In some way we all start in water and return to water.
